A.W. Marion Campout

Another successful adventure in the books for Heritage Cycles! We got a group of crazy riders to brave one of the first days of cold and go on a bike camping trip. We left from the shop in the afternoon and rode 30 miles southeast to A.W. Marion State Park or Hargus Lake as some would call it. It was perfect weather for the ride down, a little bit of crosswinds but that didn't stop anyone. As the sun started to go down, more layers were applied. But we were ready for a cold night! Temps got down to the mid 40s but our little fire kept us warm.

And as with all camping trips, there were hot dogs, s'mores, cinnamon rolls, cold drinks, and hot drinks. Half of us hammocked and the other half set up tents. The forecast called for a little bit of rain and thankfully it held off until about 5:30am the next morning! Just a sprinkle. There was still coffee and more cinnamon rolls before breakfast at the Cherry Street Diner in Ashville. Ride home was great with a full Sunday to relax. This may be the last bike camping trip we have planned for this year but you never know! We will still be riding our bikes every week, some every day. Cold weather doesn't scare us! Until next time... #rideheritage
